Resin Gourd Lights
Jeannette Ephraim, Netherlands

In her garden outside of Rotterdam, Jeannette grows a profusion of gourds that she harvests at the end of each summer so that they may become the foundation of her light sculptures. Sticking them into totemic and cartoonish compositions, sometimes adding branches or random flourishes. The playful compositions are then coated in colorful resin and the gourds rotted out, leaving only the shell which is refined and electrified.
