Resin Gourd Lights
Jeannette Ephraim, Netherlands

In her garden outside of Rotterdam, Jeannette grows a profusion of gourds that she harvests at the end of each summer so that she may transform them into stunning and fantastical light sculptures. Once harvested, the gourds are coated in resin then removed, leaving only a colorful shell and a detailed imprint of the natural texture. The artist arranges the gourds into playful compositions, sometimes adding branches or random flourishes, transforming them into colorful, electrified fantasy lanterns.
