Wheel-thrown forms are the starting point for each piece, which are then altered and combined with hand-built additions.

By altering wheel-thrown porcelain and stoneware, the work fuses organic and geometric forms, expressing both fluidity and abruptness, the natural and the built.

Pre-Colombian art, architecture and contemporary design inform the artist’s shapes and patterns. The colors of the Andes and Catalina Mountains also inspire the palette of glazes and engobes, which are achieved through high-firing in oxidation and reduction.
